Hello,
My name is Clara.
A few years ago, I lost someone who meant everything to me.
And with that loss, a part of my own story disappeared forever.
What still weighs on my heart today isn't only the absence.
It's all the things I never took the time to ask.
Her childhood memories.
The moments when she felt afraid.
The moments when she felt proud.
Her dreams — even the ones she never dared to share out loud.
The hard choices she had to make.
The small, everyday details that once seemed ordinary… and now feel priceless.
I always believed there would be "more time."
More time to ask.
More time to listen.
More time to truly understand.
But that "later" never came.
And that realization leaves behind a quiet, constant ache.
Not loud. Not dramatic.
Just a deep, lingering regret —
of not having asked enough,
of not having listened closely enough,
of not having captured the essence of her life while I still could.
From that emptiness, the idea for the journal
"I Want To Know Your Story" was born.
This journal is not just a book. It is a second chance.
An invitation to open the conversations we so often postpone —
because life moves fast, and we keep telling ourselves there's still time.
It's a space to ask the important questions, and also the simple ones —
the ones that awaken forgotten memories,
that reveal a life as it was truly lived.
This journal exists to preserve what time takes from us too soon:
the stories, the emotions, the voice of a person —
captured through their own words.
I can't go back. I can't recover the questions I never asked.
But if this journal can spare you that regret —
if it can give you the chance to truly know the people you love
while they are still here —
then this pain will have had a purpose.
With all my heart,
Clara ❤️
